Privacy Policy
Famili is operated by [Your legal business name] in Ontario, Canada. We handle personal information under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Famili is for parents and caregivers aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children.
What we collect
- Account: your email address, used to sign you in.
- Subscription: your plan status and billing dates. Card details are collected and stored by Stripe, never by us.
- Your use of Famili: Academy lessons you mark complete and "How did it go?" ratings.
- Coaching requests: when you use Coach Me or the word checker, the text you type is sent to our AI provider to create your answer. We do not store that text. We keep only a count of requests to apply the daily limit.
- Technical data: basic logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept by our hosting provider for security.
Please don't include your child's full name, school, address or health records in coaching requests. Describe the situation instead.
Why we use it
To provide Famili, manage your subscription, keep the service secure, and improve our content using totals (for example, how many ratings were "better"). We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Supabase (account database and sign-in)
- Stripe (payments and billing)
- Anthropic (AI coaching answers)
- Vercel (website hosting)
Your account data is stored in Canada (Supabase, Canada Central region). Some providers may process information outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law. Each is bound by contract to protect it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, progress and ratings right away. Stripe keeps billing records as required by tax law.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account anytime from the Account page.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct it, by emailing [support@your-domain.ca].
- If you have a concern we haven't resolved, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
